NCEP/EMC precipitation verification includes daily side-by-side comparisons of model precipitation forecasts vs. precipitation analyses (i.e., QPF vs. QPE), as well as quantitative verification of model precipitation forecasts against precipitation analyses (i.e., skill scores).
