This site compares the parallel GFSv16 to the operational GFSv15. Note that the 1-km reflectivity, instantaneous total/low/middle/high cloud cover, and cloud ceiling height parameters are only available in the parallel GFSv16. Instantaneous snow depth (SNOD) and 24-hr water equivalent of accumulated snow depth (WEASD) are available from Oct. 19, 2020 to present. From Oct. 28 to Dec. 22, 2020, EMC only ran the 00Z cycle for the parallel GFSv16. GFSv16 was implemented at 12Z on March 22, 2021.
